Isn’t it natural for the antagonist to thoroughly best the story’s hero? As the fated adversary, completely overwhelming the lead character seems appropriate. When destiny assigns the villain part, isn’t total victory over the protagonist expected? The antagonist’s complete supremacy over the main character feels inevitable. Isn’t the villain’s complete defeat of the hero just following the script?
